It’s an old sewing built in the table and it’s in pretty good condition. I’m not sure what year it is I only know the model number. I would like to know if anyone will tell me the price value of this machine.

If you do a search on this site,you will see that old sewing machines have hardly no value whatsoever. I think they should be worth a fortune myself, but . . .

I’m trying to sell some of my mothers things, and I have three vintage Singer sewing machines (the large ones, attached to the table, with the foot pedal) and it looks to be circa 1930’s but I can’t be sure. Where can I price this? Most of the models that come up in Yahoo search are much later than the one I have. Any help?

Most of the electric cabinet machines, unless you’ve got one that’s one of the more sought models like a 221, 222, 301 or 401 will be worth $0-25; you can often find someone to buy them for about $10. Yes, they’re good machines in that era, but not fashionable at the moment. Treadle machines or handcranks will go a bit higher, $25-100, depending on condition and market.

You don’t want to purchase a machine through Kmart or Walmart.They don’t service what they sell.
You want to look for a local sewing machine dealer. They will specialize in a certain brand of their choice. Most will have a finance company that they use.
Look specifically at hoop size for the embroidery, most begin at 4×4. This will soon be too little for you. You want to be able to sit down and sew on the machine of your choice prior to purchasing. Take your time and look around. Research what it is that you want in a machine, Keeping in mind that their is alot of expense in machine embroidery. There is special thread to purchase, regular sewing thread doesn’t work, special bobbin thread to purchase, and everything needs a stabilizer. A specific stabilizer for different fabrics. Learn about this prior to purchase, if funds are short, you might have to save a while to be able to enjoy your machine. At least know what your getting yourself into.

I just got a singer sewing machine model #1525 and I was wondering can you quilt with it and what materials can you use on it?
I want to make clothes , curtains and quilt. Will it do all of these?

You drop the feed dogs to do the free motion quilting. You need a quilting foot or walking foot to quilt. Quilting foot has an extension that marks the last row done so you get really good lines. Walking foot should have ability to accept the little quilting bar. It has a roller on the bottom.

You can sew anything you want to sew with this machine! Everything from tissue faille to heavy denim and canvas.
