I have a old singer sewing machine with a gold sphinx painted on it. I know that the model is a sphinx? My question is where would i be able to get a treadle belt for it?

You can measure the size you need and have a leather one made at a shoe repair place or you can go to a hardware/auto store and find a rubber belt the length you need. Make sure it will not be too wide for the slot…measure width too.

My first place would be a small sewing machine repair shop.
Secondly, I have read there is an active online group of repair people. Try googling sewing machine repair lbogs. (Maybe one of them will see your question)

Try Cindy Peters: stitchesintime@earthlink.net
She can also supply you with directions for how to properly install and tension the belt. She’s somewhat of a specialist in treadles; nice lady.
