47 Year old Susan Boyle wows the judges with her performance in the auditions for Britains Got Talent, singing I dreamed a dream from Les Miserables.
Here are the Lyrics(Thanks to NewHotdox) -
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high,
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving.
Then I was young and unafraid
When dreams were made and used,
And wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung,
No wine untasted.
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hopes apart
As they turn your dreams to shame.
And still I dream he’ll come to me
And we will live our lives together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms
We cannot weather…
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this I’m living
So different now from what it seems
Now life has killed
The dream I dreamed.
interview from itv.com
Its been quite a weekend for BGT sensation Susan Boyle.
The 47 year-old singer, who delighted everyone with her powerful performance of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Mis on Saturdays show, hasnt let stardom go to her head.
Instead she turned up for church as usual on Easter Sunday morning, reportedly receiving rapturous applause from her friends in the congregation.
She said, It was incredible. Although we sing in church not a lot of them know how good I was, so it was a bit of a shock for them.
Everyone is very nice and its lovely when all the kids stop me in the street to congratulate me.
Many of the churchgoers know Susan well but for different reasons. Currently unemployed, the singer devotes a lot of time doing community work on the churchs behalf.
She told us, I like to help out where I can and I mostly do voluntary work. I help out the elderly, stuff like that. And I visit people in hospital. Ive been doing that for a year and a half now.
Its been a tough time for Susan, who now lives alone in her childhood home following the death of her 91 year-old mother, Bridget, in 2007.
But Susans positive attitude – as well as her desire to keep busy – has kept her spirits up.
She told us, A lot of things can happen that have been really sad and youve got to cover it up. You either laugh or youd greet (cry). And wed all be greeting, that would be a terrible mess.
Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone. I dont intend to be alone for long.
Judging by the many messages of support on this website, Susan has millions of new friends and fans out there, for starters. And the people of West Lothian are certainly behind her all the way!
She smiled, The whole village is cheering me on. West Lothian would wish me well, I hope, that is the kind of community it is.
And I will be doing my best. Before I left, they told me, ‘If you can behave yourself and stop your carry on, you will do well. You can sing okay’.
Who am I to let them down?

Aerosmith’s “I don’t want to miss a thing” is also featured in the clip, for those that keep asking!
For all those that seem to think Paul is a pro in disguise, please realise the following.
- Bath Opera is an amateur opera company staging a small number of productions a few times each year.
- Paul has performed in just 4 four productions with this company
- Paul has attended some masterclasses in Italy. These courses are designed for talented amateurs. All of these are paid for by those attending.
- A few masterclasses, even one with the great man do not constitute “a formal opera training” by any stretch of the imagination.
- Professional opera singers earn their living by treading the boards night after night week-in week-out, year after year with professional opera companies.
- Paul, has never earned a single penny from opera performance, other than winning a tv talent show in 1999 – the winnings funding masterclasses.
- Paul has not performed since 2003.
- He is not a professional opera singer pretending to be a mobile phone sales man, but rather he is a mobile phone salesman aspiring to be an opera singer.
- An operatic voice IS a trained voice.
Hmmmm, perhaps if I can buy a few classes at a pro cookery school, I can pass myself off as a highly experienced pro chef…..hmmmmm……

This is the fourth of several videos I’m making with clips, sounds and pictures of some of my favourite young singers. The clips in this one are:
1. Danielle White – Colours of The Wind (age 11).
Danielle sang this when she was a finalist on American Juniors. She sang it beautifully with such feeling and calmness it makes me smile. No wonder she made it into the final group.
2. Jackson 5 – Who’s Loving You (Michael age 11).
Wow. I’m telling you: wow, wow, wow. It’s Michael Jackson. Need I say more? This is the most talented child star there’s ever been and ever will be. They sang this at the Ed Sullivan Show.
3. Billy Gilman – Oklahoma (age 12).
Billy was 12 years old when he sang this song and made this music video. His voice has such pureness and it’s so beautiful. I love him singing this song, it makes me both cry and smile because he’s got such a nice voice and the song is beautiful.
4. Jamia Simone Nash – A Tisket A Tasket (age 7).
She was only 7 years old when she was on the Nickelodeon show “Romeo!” and sang this, but wow, can that little girl sing! She’s really impressive, both as a singer and an actress.
5. Declan Galbraith – I’ll Be There & Angels (age 10).
“I’ll Be There” is from rehearsal and “Angels” is from the performance when he was performing at the huge 2002 Young Voices concert. I don’t know what else to say except: Aahh! This kid is simply amazing!
6. Danielle White – Good Morning Starshine (age 11).
This is also from when she was a finalist on American Juniors. She certainly didn’t have the most powerful voice of the contestants, but she had great control and sang every song beautifully.
7. Michael Jackson – Ben (age 16).
I just thought I’d use a video where he was still a kid, but a bit older. His voice was not as high anymore, but still as amazing as before. Again: It’s Michael Jackson!
8. Billy Gilman – One Voice (age 12).
Oh, I love this music video. It’s not his most powerful song, but he’s really great with it and his voice is beautiful.
9. Jamia Simone Nash – Who’s Loving You (age 6).
Okay, so she’s no Michael Jackson, but how amazing is this for a 6-year-old! She really is a true star! Jamia is a great singer and she’s really cute too!
10. Declan Galbraith – Carrickfergus (age 10).
The first clip is from rehearsal and the other one is from the performance, also from the 2002 Young Voices concert. Declan to me is like Michael Jackson. What is there to say? It’s Declan, he’s amazing! AMAZING!
P.S. My next “Amazing Child Singers” video will be about:
Jessica Sanchez
Declan Galbraith
Charice Pempengco
Michael Jackson
Make sure you check it out!
And if this is the first one of my “Amazing Child Singers” videos you watch, then please make sure you watch and comment the earlier ones!
I DO NOT OWN THE CLIPS IN THIS VIDEO!
THIS IS PURELY FAN MADE AND FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY!
